We use the free subscription version of HubSpot

Ok - I can see the pop up in the bottom right of my screen, advising that the email recipent has opened my sent mail. That’s great.

However, is there somewhere I can go in HubSpot to see a list of all of the past email opens?

Thanks

Mike

Hi @MChanning,

Yes, you can find instructions here: [View sales notifications in the activity feed](https://knowledge.hubspot.com/prospecting/view-your-sales-notifications-in-the-activity-feed)

Me again Karsten.

I am afraid that I simply do not understand some of the terminology used by HubSpot.

For example. I am keen to make sure I do not miss any noifications.

So the first thing I am unsure about (and there are many 🙂 is whether or not I should expect to receive an email notification, when a prospect opens the email I sent them from HubSpot.

Also, in terms of terminology

I saw this

 ![MChanning_0-1720086648135.png](https://d2qpr2jzcazej7.cloudfront.net/original/3X/2/f/2fc603aea085305f7ca1fbbea5fb7daf5c0c5782.png)

And because I work for a company which sells stuff, I just dont understand what thsi means.

Why would I even think about sending a company prospect an email from my ‘personal email’.

So I am not sure what HubSpot actually means when it uses the words ‘personal email’

Does HubSpot mean my own (personal) work email address?

Sorry to bother you.

Mike

@MChanning personal email here refers to your individual email, the one you connected by following these steps: [Connect your personal email](https://knowledge.hubspot.com/connected-email/connect-your-inbox-to-hubspot)

It’s likely the one you’re using for every day communications in a business context.

HubSpot differentiates between personal email and shared / team email.

Hope this helps! (If it did, please don’t forget to mark my previous reply and this one as an accepted solution. It helps me a lot.)

Thanks again Karsten.

I thought that would be the case and that HubSpot were not referring to my ‘ouside work email address / account’, so my question would be, why not say that… But nevermind.

I appreciate you clearing that up.

When I go into a HubSpot contact record, I can see the email I sent to the contact and I can see the ‘opens’ no problem - but I just did not want to have to go into each record to see if they had opened my mail.

I am getting pop up notification when someone opens my sent mails, but I am definately not getting an email when a contact replies to emailssent from my personal work email address.

I checked with our admin people and there are no HubSpot emails in Quarantine.

We use the Edge browser. What can I do to make sure it is not Edge that is not allowing me to receive notification that someone has opened my HubSpot email?

@MChanning which HubSpot subscription level are you on exactly?

Can you please check these troubleshooting steps? [Not receiving HubSpot system or notification emails](https://knowledge.hubspot.com/marketing-email/not-receiving-hubspot-system-or-notification-emails)

We are running the Free Subscription version at the moment.

Also - I already saw on the page to which you directed me, the words below:

HubSpot sends notification emails to inform you of events such as test marketing emails, form submissions, lead revisits, and file exports.

These words do **not** suggest that I should expect to receive notofication emails when my emails are opened.

However, the section where I choose what I want to be notified about, does suggest I should receive emails when someone replies.

Have you heard of [confused.com](http://confused.com)?

In that case, you might also simply have hit the 200 notifications limit.

> * * *
>
> **Please note:** the number of notifications you receive per month depends on your [HubSpot subscription](https://legal.hubspot.com/hubspot-product-and-services-catalog). Accounts with free tools have 200 notifications each month. If the monthly limit is reached, you can send tracked emails and receive real-time notifications, but your activity feed will not show notifications until the count resets on the first calendar day of the next month.

Might that have happened?

Yes, I saw that there was a limi, but I get no where near 200 notifications.

Karsten and in all honesty, I have been using HubSpot for 5/6 months and I have NEVER received an email notification that someone has opened my sent email. I get the pop up notificaion and I can see the ‘opened’ notification in the contact activity section, but no emails at all.

I my get 40/50 opend per month - but that’s an absolute maximum

Me again, again!!

We have made good progress with being able to track sent mails and see the notifications for when thay are opened.

The remaining issue we have in with ‘self notifications’.

I see that it is recommended that we add the IP address our colleagues use, so that if they were to open to read one of my sent emails, I woudl not receive a ‘self notification’ around that ‘open’. However, some of our people (I guess like most companies today) work remotely from time to time. On those occasions, they may be working from home when they do not have a static IP address associated with their broadband internet service

Is there any way, other than by using static IP addresses to stop self opens being notified please?

Many thanks,

Mike
