Hi,
The last few days I have noticed that the Log and Track checkbox keep being checked. When I uncheck them and send an e-mail, they are checked again with the next new e-mail.
It used to be, that it would keep the state of the last mail sent.
Could some one please tell how I can keep LOG and TRACK unchecked, until I want to track or log something?
I also find this change to be annoying as it ends up tracking mails I’m not looking to track. Is there a way to set it as off by default as before?

I do not want it to default to the last email behavior. I would rather have to check it every time I want it logged versus having emails that I do not want logged, logged.
Has anyone at Tech responded? I agree and find this annoying. Only want to track certain emails. Not have it as my default… Still looking for a solution…

yeah, I really like the service bu i’m only going to give it a few more days and then I’m going to hit the uninstall button! I only use it to track certain emails and there are plenty of other plug-ins. Hopefully, they have a solution.

Sorry for the delay in reaching out. The ‘log’ and ‘track’ buttons should hold the settings of the last sent email. For example if you check them off and send an email, the next email will have them checked off. If you then uncheck them, the next email you send will not have them checked off, etc.

I am experienceing that - however I would like to know if there is a way to default EVERy email to unchecked and if I want it tracked I then need to check it. The problem is I am sending trackable emails and then when I shoot one or reply to an email it is being tracked.Unchecking every email I do not want tracked is not something on my radar when replying to an email. I would rather have EVERY email have the default to NOT checked versus the last email behavior… Is this something that I can do? Is this something Hubspot can consider as a setting?
From what I remember this was the case before the last update to the program.

This is the expected behavior at the moment. If you would like to see changes made in the future functionality of the tool, I would suggest creating an idea in our ideas forum. Our developers monitor the forum for new ideas.

Hi, I few week ago the problem was suddenly gone.
When I uncheck Track and Log, they stay unchecked.
Now I can use HubSpot again for only the e-mails I want racked or logged.
I really dont know if this was fixed by a server side setting or an update of the chrome app.
But I assume it was some howfixed in the background by the HubSpot team.

I was actually hoping for a setting that keeps it unchecked always, not default to what was done on the last email. That way no matter what I need to check it off to be tracked regardless of what the last email was. I would rather have an email miss being tracked rather than one being track that should not be.

That is currently not a functionality of the Gmail extension. Can you post in the ideas forum if you would like to see this added to HubSpot in the future?

Partially my issue as well.
Can we not have a setting for admins to configure so logg andd track by default is on or off based on our setting? This is to ensure un-needed contacts and email trails are not added.

Hey @TracyE Did you submit the idea? Was it accepted? If not, I can submit it again. I feel your pain and even I want an option to keep it unchecked by default.
