What would be the best way to track two-way communication Between a sales rep and a contacted customer in workflows or programatically?

Hi @RFreiburghaus,

The best practice for documentation communication would be to:

- Send emails directly from HubSpot: [Send and manage one-to-one emails](https://knowledge.hubspot.com/one-to-one-email/send-and-reply-to-one-to-one-emails)
- Track and log emails with the sales extensions:
  - [Track and log emails with the HubSpot Sales Office 365 add-in | Knowledge Base](https://knowledge.hubspot.com/connected-email/track-and-log-emails-with-the-hubspot-sales-office-365-add-in)
  - [Track and log emails with the HubSpot Sales Chrome extension | Knowledge Base](https://knowledge.hubspot.com/connected-email/track-and-log-emails-with-the-hubspot-sales-chrome-extension)

- Use the BCC address: [Log email in your CRM with the BCC or forwarding address](https://knowledge.hubspot.com/connected-email/log-email-in-your-crm-with-the-bcc-or-forwarding-address)

That way, the activity will appear on the record timeline: [Filter activity index pages and record timelines](https://knowledge.hubspot.com/records/filter-activities-on-a-record-timeline)

@RFreiburghaus I’m not sure what you mean when you say that. To what point would you be doing that? What is your goal? Workflows and Python are tools, but what for?
