Totally lost on publishing a landing page

Hi! I’ve been trying to resolve this for hours and am losing my mind.

So our team is on the free plan and we’ve had hubspot for a year or two, first with one name for our organization (let’s call it oldname) and now with our rebranded name (let’s call it newname). Our system domain is set up with oldname in it. And we published landing pages with it. But we wanted to update it to newname so it’s not confusing.

I tried connecting our current domain: newname.org. First, I had issues because it required me to put in new CNAME and A records, and this broke our old site. So then I tried adding a subdomain instead: marketing.newname.org. This seemed to work and everything looks active and verified within hubspot.

However, when I update the old landing pages to this domain, they don’t load. I’m getting “this page is unavailable.” What happened?? Even trying to rever to the oldname URL doesn’t work, so now it seems like there’s NO way to get this page published. Please help!

Free plans are only allowed to have one brand domain. So you would have to remove oldname and replace it with newname. Based on the current help articles from Hubspot, the ability to change brand domains is not allowed on free plans ( Replace your brand domain ). Unfortunately, I think you are at a point if you want to remain free that you would have to move to an entirely new hub, or upgrade your hub to change the brand domain.

Hi! I just did this and came here for an answer. Can you tell me how you got your site back? Mine is broken now too and I’m so frustrated. I built this awesome landing page just to break my main site.. Thanks!

Hi @IWaffles8,

Thanks for reaching out to the Community!

Could you please share more details about what is happening and the steps you mentioned you followed? The screenshots are very helpful, and if you are encountering any errors, please share them as well. Additionally, could you provide information on the type of plan you are using?

Thank you.
