Title when logging meeting

Just to follow-up on @RChadha8 's post above, you need to be opted into the beta feature for meetings index in order to see this as well!

Our team often logs meetings manually, but there is currently no option to assign a title to these entries. As a result, when we review Activity Reporting, the “Meeting Name” field displays only a double dash (“--”). We frequently have impromptu or unscheduled meetings, such as discussions at industry events or conferences, which we would like our team to capture and label appropriately. However, the lack of a title field prevents this.

This in my opinion is a Road Block for our team and our ability to provide activity reporting to our leadership.

I hear you @BMcGee, have you considered working with meeting types? The problem with names is anyone can but anything (these fields are freetext after all).

If you want to report and analyse, meeting types allow you to define options in a drop-down which makes this inherently more suitable for reporting/review.

@franksteiner79 We do use Meeting Types already, as well as Outcomes. It’s an issue since when our team sets a meeting via Outlook, they populate with a Title. I do understand as well that you can send a meeting via HubSpot where you can add a title, but as I noted above we have a lot of impromptu meetings at events and conferences where we would need to denote a Title for the meeting since the Meeting Type is being used to identify what type of meeting it was. ie In-Person, Conference Meeting, Conference Booth, etc etc.

Also, when we send out reporting our leadership sees the titles of those schedule meetings and know what they are, but the logged meetings just show a double dash as the title. They would have navigate to each meeting to undertsand what the meeting was about.

Yes this is quite annoying and seems like it should be an easy fix.

@hubspot We’re getting ready to do our kickoff meeting next month, and this was an issue brought up by the team and curious if this feature has had any traction amongst the development group. I would like to provide an update.

Agreed! @hubspot and we need to be able to have multiple people as owners so they can both receive credit for the meeting in reports.

I can see that this was raised a number of years ago but still no change? We are a new user and I really want to encourage our sales team to log the meetings they attend - but it just looks so messy wthout titles.

Hi Mark, we plan to add a Title field to Logged Meetings.

We just have one dependency we need to work out first, which is why I don’t have an exact timeline yet. If you’d like to see our new designs with the Title field, I’m happy to hop on a call and show them to you.

We plan to add a Title field to Logged Meetings, Notes, and other Logged Engagements (e.g. logged calls, logged email, etc.).

In the meantime, you can edit the Title field through the Index Page or through the View All Properties Panel. A little clunky to start, but we plan to fix it.

Best,

Not being able to do this drives me nuts. It causes so much mess. Please fix this!!!

I hear you Ben! It’s on my radar.

Hi everyone, we don’t have plans to take this on right now so moving it into the Not Currently Planned category. This is a feature the team wants to tackle, and when we’re ready to start development on it I’ll reach back out to let you know here on the Community Forum. -Winnie

I really hate to see this. Major roadblock from our standpoint. I’m not sure how you can report out on meetings when there is nothing but “Logged Meeting” which may be a change I believe, but does little know what the meeting is about when reporting to leaders. Also creates additional work on the team when you have to go back in and edit the meeting. I wish the team would reconsider.

YES, need a meeting title when logging manually in CRM. Doesn’t have to be required, but that could be an admin setting
