Hello,
I am looking for a way to timestamp when a contact property was updated AND by which agent.
Example
Last property updated date = Today
Last property updated by = X Agent
I am already using a workflow to timestamp when the property was changed, but I need a clean way to see which agent updated that field/record.
I know this data exists as I can see it when I go into the property history for an individual contact
Does anyone have ideas on the best way to accomplish this?
Hi @pnastaean1 ,
like you said, the property history gives you that information. Did you want to have a report of those changes? Also, how do you see it working? Is it only one specific property that you want to monitor or multiple? The reason I’m asking is because if you want to track changes in multiple properties, then you need to decide if you want a single property to capture the latest change, or you want to create supplementary properties to track changes for the main ones. If you choose the latter, it can be messier. If you choose the former, it will be more complicated to keep track of what was changed by that person at that time. It is also worth understanding if the property that you would monitor could be changed by the system or a workflow. If that’s the case, would you want that to be captured, too, or are you only focusing on manual updates?
Thanks,
Eli
Hi Eli,
The property history gives information about the changes to that property but does not show which rep specifically made the change.
Im looking only to monitor one single property. This is not being changed by the system or workflow but only manually by the reps themselves.
Ideally, I could somehow stamp which rep last changed that property through a workflow similar to the timestamp for date.
Thanks
Another workaround could be if we can report on which rep added a contact into a static list. That would also solve my problem
Hi @pnastaean1 ,
am I safe to believe that chances are that it’s not the contact owner who has made the changes, as that would be an easy thing to report on.
Also, have you considered, people to only have access to their own contacts? And this way, you know for a fact that if a manual change has happened, it would have been from the contact owner.
Thanks,
Eli
