I have a company property that has the same values as the stages in our default deal. Each company has, at most, 1 deal associated with it. Is there any way to automatically sync the company property with the current deal phase, so I can pull company properties for reporting purposes but people on our team don’t have to manually update both?

This kind of automation is possible with HubSpot workflows which requires a Professional or Enterprise subscription. Unfortunately, workflows are not available in the free product.
(Some queries can be solved with external automation, using Zapier, however, I’m not sure that’s possible here.)
