The necessary skills that a founder(IT) should have regarding Content, Digital Marketing & SEO?

I would love to here from Experts. I need a roadmap, a curiculum, an advice
its my firstday here, I want to connect Hi everyone! It’s my first day in the community, and as an IT founder looking to build a strong digital presence, I’d love to get expert advice on the core content, digital marketing, and SEO skills I should focus on mastering versus delegating. What essential roadmap, HubSpot Academy courses, or key growth strategies would you recommend to help an technical founder effectively navigate marketing and avoid common early pitfalls?

Welcome to the community! I’d start with the basics before trying to learn everything at once.

For an IT founder, I think the most useful areas are SEO, content strategy, analytics, email marketing, and understanding your target audience. You don’t necessarily need to become an expert in every area, but knowing how each one works will help you make better decisions and know when to delegate.

For SEO especially, I’d focus first on search intent, keyword research, useful content, technical SEO, internal linking, and measuring results in Search Console and analytics.

HubSpot Academy is also a good place to build a structured foundation. I’d recommend choosing one topic at a time and actually applying what you learn to your own website.

Good luck with your first day here!

Hi @Gravity,

I’d recommend completing the digital marketing certification by HubSpot: https://academy.hubspot.com/courses/digital-marketing

It’ll give you an introduction to digital marketing and business growth strategies as well as an overview of required skills in advertising, SEO, social media.

I’d suggest learning enough about each area to understand the fundamentals and measure results before gradually handing these responsibilities over to specialists. In the early stages, you’ll benefit a lot from understanding your audience, positioning, messaging.

Hope this helps!
