I’m getting into digital marketing and i’ve come here to ask what are some of the best ways to make connections soley online to eventually land a job or jobs in SEO/ and Content Marketing. Also I’m taking the course and I guess i’m confused as to how to put all of this into practice. Say I go up to a shoe store and i’m approaching them to give them my services. What are the points that I need to tell them. How do I sell them on it? I know I need to volunteer and i’m willing just would like some idea of where to start

Thanks for reaching out to the community. You have learned about SEO but you don’t know how to put that knowldge into practice, So for that you can find the work by applying in various organizations or applting through the Freelance portals.

Hey @FBarber that really is a broad question with no single answer to be honest. There are loads of different schools of thought and approaches to getting business and sales.
If you have knowledge of content marketing, why not use your own business/brand as a first customer? Create content online, social media and blogs to build your brand and generate interest in your services.
A great first step is to define who your ideal customers are, what types of businesses are they and what problems do they have? How does your services help them solve problems and what outcomes could they expect?
The HubSpot academy has a load of great resources to learn about marketing and sales practives. The inbound marketing cert is a great starting point to learn about driving leads through inbound marketing! There’s also an inbound sales cert here.
