If you’ve been using HubSpot Video mostly for trimming clips, you’re leaving a lot on the table.
HubSpot Video has grown into a full creation and editing suite — and a lot of the most useful features are easy to miss if no one points them out. Here are the ones worth knowing about right now.
1. You can start from scratch — no existing footage required
Open a blank project and record directly in-browser: camera, microphone, screen capture, or any combination. You don’t need a clip to start from. You just need something to say.
2. AI Script Generation + a built-in teleprompter
Describe what your video is about and HubSpot generates a ready-to-use script. When you’re ready to record, the teleprompter scrolls your script on screen — and it’s invisible in the final video. No more blank-page paralysis, no more looking away from the camera.
3. Timeline editing that actually works
A few things worth knowing:

Undo is back. Transcript edits used to be permanent. Now they’re fully undoable.

Track splitting lets you make precise cuts on any track type — not just the main clip.

Snap-to-edge with alignment guides makes it easy to line tracks up exactly.

Delete/backspace removes a track instantly. No more double-click flow.

Real-time seeking as you drag the playhead — you see exactly where you are.

The transcript panel is collapsible. So is the timeline. Your workspace is yours to configure.
4. Text overlays with real precision controls
Text overlays now resize in all directions (not just horizontally). You can position them with arrow keys for 1px adjustments, or hold Shift for 10px jumps. Alignment guides snap to canvas center and edges. Small changes, but they make a real difference in polish.
5. Edit video directly inside Social, Page, and Email editors
This one surprises people. You don’t have to leave the editor you’re already in to make a video change. Edit in-place inside Social, Page, and Email — no tab switching, no re-uploading.
6. A redesigned video share page
The share page now includes a title, description, chapter markers, and a searchable transcript — making shared videos easier to navigate and easier to find.
