The Custom Report Limit is Too Restrictive

I would like to suggest that the custom report limit (of 100) in HubSpot Sales Hub is too restrictive. We have nearly 20 sales seat users and multiple core users, now, all being paid for. We have reached the limit, due to our deep need for financial, deals and win/loss reports.

HubSpot has been an awesome change for us, with more automation, and most of the reports we needed being able to be made. It is expensive to upgrade to the next tier up (of custom report limits), which is excessively large (it jumps from a limit of 100 to 3,000). For our small business, we also do not need HubSpot Enterprise.
I would like to suggest that considering the next reporting package up so so immense (3,000) the standing custom report limit should be increase to 10% of this (300).

Hey @AGreenslade ,

I totally get where you’re coming from. The custom report limit in Sales Hub Pro at 100 reports feels pretty restrictive, and the jump to Enterprise with 3,000 reports is a massive leap (and cost). For small businesses, it’s tough to justify upgrading to Enterprise just for the reporting limits.

Here’s what I think could be a good solution:

  • Introducing a Reporting Add-On:

    • HubSpot could offer a middle-ground add-on, like a Reporting Limit Light plan, where users can increase their custom report limits by 300 or 500 reports without needing the full Enterprise upgrade.
    • This would be a minor change on HubSpot’s side but would offer a lot more flexibility for businesses like yours.
  • Variable Pricing:

    • Instead of a fixed high price for increasing the report limit (like $200 for 300 extra reports), there could be a variable pricing model—something like $100 for 150 reports, or even smaller increments. This would give users more control over their costs while meeting their needs.

I’ve personally dealt with this issue too, even on the Enterprise Hub plan, where the 500-report limit feels limiting at times. We had to get our reporting limit increased as well, so I definitely see the need for more flexibility here.

What I recommend you do next:

  • Raise this internally with your Customer Success Manager (CSM) or the salesperson who sold you HubSpot. They can give you direct feedback or push your request higher up.
  • Also, I have raised this as an Idea on HubSpot Ideas Forum. It’s a great place for getting product managers’ attention. As a HubSpot partner, I’ve seen a lot of community suggestions turn into actual features. I need you to upvote this and ask your network & your team to do the same.

I’ll also share this feedback with my team, and we’ll pass it along to HubSpot from our end as well.

Hey @AGreenslade

Your suggestion to increase the custom report limit in HubSpot Sales Hub from one hundred to three hundred is valid, especially considering your team’s size and reporting needs.

Many users would benefit from a more flexible limit that aligns better with their operational requirements without needing to upgrade to a much higher tier.

Sharing this feedback with HubSpot’s product team could help them understand the needs of small businesses you can submit your Idea here

I concur with @AGreenslade -- HubSpot need to provide an “addon feature” to purchase more reports!!

Hi 512-cristina, there is already an addon feature where you can buy more custom reports. We have, in fact, recently had to make use of it. I still think it was a fair request to increase the default custom report limit to 300, without cost.

@AGreenslade -- thanks for that confirmation! The info from standard site vs the legal site (product catalog) can be a little confusing. We have reached out to our Sales rep to confirm we can indeed only buy just extra reports. Thank you!

I agree with this completely! I like the add-on idea as well. I’m currently spending too much time filtering reports and figuring out how to reuse them. I would love to have an add-on of just a few hundred.
