The app could not be installed because the app developer has not signed the acceptable use policy

Hi,

I was trying to authenticate an app I created with my Hubspot Demo account and I got the following error:

Can I know how to sign the “Acceptable use policy” as an app developer?

Thank you so much!

Hi @harshanas

That banner is frustrating, but it usually means your developer account hasn’t accepted HubSpot’s program terms yet.

OAuth apps (even unlisted ones) require the developer to agree to the AUP and developer policies before installs work. You can do this from your developer account: sign in at developers.hubspot.com, open your developer account, go to the developer overview > App listings (or Marketplace/Program settings, naming may vary), and accept the program terms.

After that, retry the install and it should proceed. The AUP is here for reference, and the developer policy that governs apps is here

(Acceptable Use Policy ) ; (HubSpot Developer Policy )

Quick check: are you installing a public OAuth app into a demo portal, not using a Private App token? If you only need to test APIs and don’t plan to list, a Private App avoids this step and is faster to authenticate

Hi @RubenBurdin ,
Thank you so much for the response.

I just tried to find the “Developer Overview” page on my developer account, but what I can see is the new “Development Portal” page from Hubspot. I clicked the “App listings” link as well. It shows me the following page.

To answer your question on where I install the app: I tried install it on one of my demo accounts but my plan is to list the app on Hubspot marketplace.

Once again, Thank you so much!

I was running into a similar issue and found out how to accept the terms. Its quite hidden. I tried the above path but I couldn’t create a listing because I didn’t have three active users yet.
Try accepting them here, this should fix the issue for you.

It worked. Thank you so much!

THANK YOU!
Yes they really hide it
