When can we get a territory management flag so that when reps move, I can assign their territories?

Hi @AWhittaker,

What exactly do you mean by that / would you like to achieve with that?

Is this about routing? If so, HubSpot teams and the ‘Rotate record’ workflow action can already solve for that:

> **[Create and manage teams](https://knowledge.hubspot.com/user-management/create-and-manage-teams)**
>
> You can organize users within your account into teams. Learn how to create new teams, add and remove users, and make changes to team names.

> **[Assign ownership of records](https://knowledge.hubspot.com/records/how-to-set-a-record-owner#rotate-records-between-multiple-owners-sales-hub-and-service-hub-professional-and-enterprise-only)**
>
> Learn how to set the record owner manually on individual records, or in bulk using the Assign action on record home pages or using the workflows tool.

If it’s about something else, can you please specify what you mean?

Best regards

I’ll have a look at the rotate record; territory management is something that is common in all competitive enterprise CRMs. I need the ability to set a territory but a set of parmaeters EG - all accounts under 200 staff that are existing customers = SMB territory. then I need to be able to assign that SMB territory, and it then assigns all the respective records to the rep. In addition to that, I then need to be able to report on territory performance. I need the ability to assign multiple territories to one rep, then when a new rep starts, assign that territory to them, and it moves the OPPS and Accounts contacts. Using a simple tracking field in HubSpot is a rudimentary way to manage this, which doesn’t really solve the problem.

@AWhittaker this would typically be done with a custom property, teams, and a workflow:

1. Workflow enrolls recrods based on your parameters
2. Workflow then branches by parameters, with each branch corresponding to one territory (e.g. first branch filters incoming records and checks for SMB parameters)
3. Each branch then starts by assigning a territory to the enrolled record (e.g. the enrolled contact meets the SMB criteria, assign the value “SMB” in the “Territory” property to them)
4. Either assign the record directly to one rep or rotate among reps

You would manage territories by adjusting the branch criteria. You would manage assignees by adjusting step 4.

Yep, I see how this can work - it would be more sociable as an actual solution in the system.

Hi @AWhittaker

you can handle territory with Teams or with a custom property.

Have you tried any of these options?

On the surfance a drop down field seems like a way to handle this, however it increases manual work and management without giving me the automation needed.
