Adding team members doesn't work

Hi everyone,

Unfortunately, I can’t add team members. I created the account—I just need to verify it, which I’ve already done. The account has always worked fine, but unfortunately, I’m getting no feedback.

I can’t add any accounts. HubSpot doesn’t offer support through my sales agent—unfortunately, they’re only focused on sales, not service.

Hi @muddiio,

could you please share a screenshot showing that it’s not possible to add more users? Or perhaps a screenshot of the error message?

General troubleshooting steps you might have already tried:

If you’re using HubSpot’s free products, that’s correct—there’s no access to official support. That’s only available to paying customers. One option might be to choose a low-cost subscription for a month to resolve the issue.

Best regards

PS. If there are already two users in the portal: The free products allow only two users, see here: HubSpot Product & Services Catalog

HubSpot’s free tools are available as a single free edition (with up to two free users), and they’re also included in every edition of our premium products.

Hi @muddiio ! Based on your description, this breaks down into two parts: account verification and the block on adding users. Usually, one causes the other.

Regarding the pending verification:
This often holds up a lot of things in HubSpot (including new user invitations) until it’s completed. It’s worth checking:

If there’s a banner or notification at the top of the dashboard (bell icon or a yellow/red alert) asking for domain, email, or phone confirmation.

Under Settings > Account > Security (or “Verification”) to see if anything is pending there.
If the verification email ended up in your spam or junk folder.

Regarding adding members:

Check under Settings > Users & Teams to see if your plan’s user limit has been reached (free and Starter plans have limits).

See if a specific error message appears when you try to send an invitation.

Regarding the lack of support:

This is common for accounts without a paid plan or a plan that includes technical support. In these cases, usually only the sales representative is available. Even so, here are a few options:

The support chat only appears for those with an active paid plan that includes support; free or trial accounts don’t have access to it.

You can try opening a ticket via help.hubspot.com; sometimes this channel works even without a paid plan.

If the account is stuck due to unaddressed verification, it’s worth mentioning this directly to your sales rep and asking them to escalate it internally, even though it’s not their specific role, they can reach out to someone on the right team.

I can’t share media. HubSpot is getting on my nerves. How else can I share?

@muddiio Feel free to send me a screenshot at hubspotcommunity@karsten.anonaddy.com — or describe the problem in detail here (where in the HubSpot user interface are you, what are you clicking, and what error message is displayed).

I have already verified my account.

There is a red banner that appears as soon as I try to add users.

This is the message from the banner:
Provide additional information to get full access to HubSpot

Features such as calls, emails, forms, URL shortening, CTAs, and CMS are only available once you provide us with more information about your company.

I have verified my account. Where does this verification requirement come from, given that I have been using HubSpot as the account creator and Super Admin for four years?

Does my last comment help?

@muddiio unfortunately, there’s no way around following the steps outlined in the banner and providing the missing information.

Certain activities in the portal may have triggered the re-review. It’s frustrating, yes, but it can’t be changed.

If you’d like to contact HubSpot Support, as mentioned, you’d need to select one of the lowest-cost subscriptions for a month, after which you can reach out to Support via email.

However, the easiest approach seems to be simply following the steps as displayed.

Best regards,

Hey Karsten, thanks for your support. I’ve already filled everything out. How long does this usually take?

@muddiio Based on the feedback here in the community, it’s likely to be days rather than hours.
