Tag Contacts Beta

@a_mccarthy Thank you for this report! I am investigating this right now.

Hi @a_mccarthy I’m still researching this and could use a bit of input if you don’t mind. A screen recording we would extremely helpful.
If you are on a Windows machine and press F12 this will open up a side panel with losts of technical details within it , called the console log. Image attached. Can you open this up this console log then create a screen recording which includes the URL bar and recreate the issue plz?

Many thanks,
Guy

@BGroup @TOne The bugs you were experiencing are now fixed in version 2.9.9. It may take a day or so for the latest build to hit your computer.
Thank you for your patience.

Hey there! I just installed HubTags and tried to start using it but it wasn’t working for me and I couldn’t find any videos to help walk me through how to actually create and manage the tags. When I clicked on “add tag” and tried to add some words, they just disappeared. Any advice?

@MDzialo Thank you for this report. The words shouldn’t be disappearing. Could you send a screen recording of the issue taking place plz. It will greatly help me diagnose and resolve it.

@GuyTaylor is it still possible to add tags to a deal?

Hi @keogab, yes this is possible.

Real time chat is ready at: HubTags.io
Please go to hubtags.io and click the chat button (in bottom right) to chat with me in real time and get a faster response. This will be helpful to more quickly troubleshoot issues/bugs. Also you can share feedback/ask questions there.

Hi @GuyTaylor I’m trying to set up the HubTags, but when trying to get an API key I got ‘Private apps are replacing API keys’ message and can not generate one. I’ve tried to read the thread but did not find the solution, the video shows the old way. According to the ‘developer community update’:

Starting July 15, 2022, we will no longer allow new API keys to be created. Existing API keys will work until November 30th, but accounts which do not have an API key, as of July 15, 2022, will not have access to create a new API key. API calls made with API keys on or after Nov 30, 2022 will return 401 errors.

How do I set it up now when API keys are not supported?

@RKuzub Thank you for the screen shot and detailed description, that is so helpful!
I am working on this solution as we speak, I should have it ready this week. I will post here the moment it is done.

Hi @RKuzub , thanks for your patience. Below is the solution:
1) Update HubTags to latest version: Video
2) HubTags private app setup: Video

Hi Everyone, HubTags is now available as a HubSpot private app. Below are the the details on how to migrate over to using this new version of HubTags. This is also the solution should you no longer have access to API keys.
1) Update HubTags to latest version: Video
2) HubTags private app setup: Video

Thanks for these updates, @GuyTaylor!

3.0.3
-Converted HubTags into a HubSpot private app. API keys are no longer required when using the private app version. Video

-Fixed a bug that displayed phantom tags (tags that were not really applied) if loading a contact profile via the search bar. Huge thank you to Kyle B. and Michael W. for discovering and working with me to fix this bug.

-Lowered the HubTags sidepanel starting position so it no longer blocks HubSpot UI in the top right.
-Also a big thank you to Miles for pointing us in the right direction for out next feature which is sub tags/child tags/dependant tags. Not sure what to call it yet.

I installed HubTags a couple days ago and used it while manually entering a list of ~254 contacts. When I go to the Contacts page to search for those I tagged, I only get 100 contacts. Am I doing something wrong?

Hi @rgschultz65,
I’ll help you troubleshoot this but please head over to hubtags.io and drop me a message there. Bottom right corner is a button to send a message.

what else could be wrong ?

best regards

Patrick

@PStruckmann Thanks for the detailed report!
So far the only way I am able to recreate this issue is by removing permissions or opening HubTags on a non-connected HubSpot account.
It looks like permissions (scopes) are correct so this probably is not the issue (but you could allow all permissions just to test).
I have exhausted all simple solutions to this issue. When time permits I will try to do a deep dive into this and figure it out. I may have some follow up questions for you so plz ping via my website chat at HubTags.io.
Guy

@PStruckmann I released a new version of HubTags. Please let me know if the issue is still taking place for you.
If yes, I should be able to track it down more easily now with your help.

3.0.5 | Video
-Fixed a variety of small issues (still more to do here)
-Connecting to HubSpot process greatly improved. You can now connect to HubSpot via a public or private app. I recommend everyone use the public app method unless they have a reason to do otherwise.
