We’re looking to sync NetSuite and HubSpot data. It looks like the native integration will meet most, if not all, the requirements. However, it’s not clear to me how NetSuite sales orders will import into HubSpot with respect to deals, and how these numbers will reflect in deal-related properties for list criteria.
The app description on the marketplace states that NetSuite sales orders will import as HubSpot orders, and NetSuite opportunities will import as HubSpot deals. A few questions:
- Are HubSpot orders another name for quotes? I don’t see any reference to orders in HubSpot Commerce.
- We don’t always use opportunities for every closed order in NetSuite; often closed deals/orders are entered directly as sales orders in NetSuite. That being said, when those sales orders get imported into HubSpot, will deals also be created as well? I believe this is important because we want to create lists in HubSpot based on contact or company properties such as: Recent deal amount, recent deal close date, total revenue, etc. It is important that any closed sales orders in NetSuite be reflected in contact and company properties such as ‘total revenue’ in HubSpot.
Hi. I monitor and update HubSpot Deals and NetSuite detail integration for the last 6mos. We make sure that details in HubSpot mimics those of NetSuite:
1. Linking the NetSuite Order (IO Document) - this ties the HubsPot Deal with the NetSuite campaign that is linked to the revenue platform.
2. Deal Stage - known as Sales stage in NetSuite. This helps categorizes what stage a certain deal/campaign is - Compliance (Credit/Accounting Review and Legal Review) Closed Won (active and launched) Closed Lost (Closed deal)
How the two system speaks is a mystery but all I know is that HubSpot creates a more seamless and easy to view Sales and Analytic Reports. Not sure if I directly answered your questions.
Hi @jennygarcia, we’ve also started testing the NetSuite integration for orders but can’t make it work.
Basically we create a HubSpot Deal with name “ABC1” → then NetSuite opportunity with same name “ABC1”. From this opportunity we create the order “1234” which flows into HubSpot.
The whole system works, but the order “1234” once in HubSpot doesn’t associate to the Deal “ABC1” (but it correctly associates with the company “XY”).
Any idea what could be the reason?
Thank you!
Hi @IBaxter
Good question. In HubSpot, “orders” aren’t the same as quotes. Orders are part of Commerce objects, which sit next to quotes and payments, but they don’t replace deals, see:
(Create and manage orders )
(Create and manage orders )
The native NetSuite integration will sync opportunities to HubSpot deals. NetSuite sales orders flow in as HubSpot orders, not deals. That means if you only create sales orders in NetSuite (skipping opportunities), those won’t automatically increase a contact’s total revenue or recent deal amount in HubSpot. Those properties only roll up from deals.
If your lists and automation depend on “recent deal amount,” “close date,” or “total revenue,” then you’ll need a workflow or custom sync logic to make sure sales orders also create or update deals. Without that step, HubSpot will see the order object, but your deal-based filters won’t reflect the sales order values.
A practical approach is to either (a) standardize on opportunities in NetSuite before creating orders, so deals are always in sync, or (b) set up a connector or workflow that translates incoming sales orders into deals, ensuring those deal-based properties stay accurate.
And just to add: I’ve seen teams smooth this gap by using Stacksync, since it can mirror NetSuite sales orders into HubSpot deals in real time. That way, revenue metrics tied to deals update automatically without depending on the native object mapping.
Hope this clears it up.
