Sync all option not working on new field mapping for Salesforce

Hi! I hope this is not a duplicate post - I’ve searched the community and didn’t see anything regarding the issue I’m facing. I have created a new field mapping within the Salesforce integration of HubSpot and selected the “sync now” option instead of the “sync gradually”. However, it appears that the records are gradually syncing. Only a few hundred out of thousands have synced since I initiatied it last night.
This is the second time I’ve had this issue of the “sync now” option actually being a gradual sync. Has anyone come across this recently or know why this could be happening?

Thanks in advance!

Hi @SThomason,
Thank you for asking the Community!
I understand that the “sync now” option with the Salesforce integration is not as fast as it used to be. And instead, it syncs gradually.
I’d be happy to put you in touch with some of our Top Experts and some Community Members who also use this integration:
Hi @DGribanov, @trevordjones, @charles3, @Phil_Vallender, @janeth, @DanielaFonseca, @LROADY, @rulpats, @Taylor31, @LaurenRyan, @ADePew, @OPerek-Clark and @HFisher7 are you experiencing the same? Do you have tips to share with @SThomason, please?
Thank you so much and have a brilliant day!
Best,

@SThomason - A few things to consider:
1. Are their any API call limits that are being hit? Either within HS or SF, considering other things that may be connected up within your techstack?
2. Are their any errors being flagged in the integration error log?
3. Do you have an inclusion list in place which is restriciting which records are syncing between the systems?

Hi @HFisher7! I appreciate you responding. I’ve provided my answers below.
1. Are their any API call limits that are being hit? Either within HS or SF, considering other things that may be connected up within your techstack?

- No API call limits were being hit.
2. Are their any errors being flagged in the integration error log?

- No new errors other than the few duplicate sync errors we clear out on a weekly basis.
3. Do you have an inclusion list in place which is restriciting which records are syncing between the systems?

- We do have an inclusion list that does restrict when and which records can sync between the systems. This napping was for the Marketing Contact Status on the records and is not included in our inclusion list as a filter so I don’t imagine it could cause such a delay. The “sync all” should have been able to sync that data to all the records that were already syncing I would think.

Hi @SThomason and Thanks for the tag @BérangèreL ,

@HFisher7 's quesitons are a great place to start.

Also, from what I have seen, “sync now” works better if the data you are trying to sync is in HubSpot, rather than in Salesforce. If the new field mapping is designed to pull data from Salesforce into HubSpot, it may be more effective to import the data into HubSpot to start or force a sync by using a Flow to bulk update records in Salesforce, much like you would import Salesforce records into HubSpot when setting up an integraiton for the first time.

Hi @trevordjones! Thank you for responding and appreciate the insight! The new field mapping I created was for HubSpot’s Marketing Contact Status field. We created the field in Salesforce and wanted to just pull what HubSpot had on each record over to the leads and contacts within Salesforce. HubSpot support did suggest forcing a sync using a list within HubSpot. I might have to go that route as it’s on day two and the syncs are still trickling in one by one.

Hi @SThomason ,

I agree with that recommendation. Build a smartlist of the contacts where the last sync time was before the change in mapping, and then manually sync the contacts.

@trevordjones, got it! I will do that. Thank you again for your help!
