What maybe would motivate them: does this file actually get crawled by LLMs?
Drupal now has support for LLM.txt creation on any Drupal 10.3+ site
SEMRush is currently posting an “issue” notice for sites that do NOT have llms.txt.
Adding my +1 for this idea.
My site is also now being scanned for this. I know this post is only back from April, but it may be time for HubSpot to seriously think about implementing this natively like robots.txt

Adding support for this. September saw our first traffic from three different chatbots to softdocs.com and semrush is also flagging it as an error. HubSpot, just do the right thing.
By the way, the redirect solutions seems to work. This: https://softdocs.com/llms.txt correctly brings up the file within HS storage. Not ideal, but at least something. Semrush no longer reports the llms.txt as a 404.
Can we please get this added to HubSpot? It’s obvious that llms.txt is being adopted, similar to robots.txt back in the day. Why wait platform competitors have a solution.
I believe this feature has become a mandatory thing to support. AI and LLM are here to stay and its not only about webtraffic data its also about that our website are understood and ready correctly by the LLMs
Thank you all for your patience. While we continue to monitor llms.txt relevance, I wanted to resurface the following workaround that @katie previously shared:
If you’re interested in generating an llms.txt file, there are some free tools available. Once you’ve generated the file, you can host it in your file manager. From there, you can set up a proxy redirect from /llms.txt to the location in your file manager where the file is hosted.
FYI, teh proxy url approach does not work.
GenSpark can read teh file www.leanlabs.com/llms.txt
but if you ask ChatGPT, Gemini, or Claude what the first line of the file is, it won’t get it right, b/c it cannot open the file.
It appears from actual testing that the HS approach to this is not yet working. we need the file to be at that url Natively, please.
if you have added llms.txt to your site, i encourage you to ask the llms to open it and tell you teh first line.
If you find it works on hubspot, pls reply and we’ll compare setups.

With all that is happening in AI world, I feel HubSpot is adding more “cosmetic” than what people ask “usable things”.
Adding sitemap editor, or simple file to root (txt, html, xml) - for many custom reason in 2026 doesn’t quite add up
i have done the proposed solution with proxy redirect to files and the url structure works, showing as yourdomain.com/llms.txt but when i try to validate it, it says llms.txt is missing. Any tips?
+1 file needs to be natively root

This workaround, worked for me. I created the txt file using this free tool (How to use and install llms.txt file in HubSpot for AI optimization | Juicy Blog) and then uploaded to the File Manager. Then I created a proxy redirect:
Original URL: website.com/llms.txt
Redirect To: website.com/hubfs/llms.txt
Redirect Style: Proxy
* When trying to save the redirect, it did give me an error when I tried to use any other domain that was not mine (like the default …hubspotusercontent-na1.net/hubfs/llms.txt)…not sure the issue, but since our website is hosted on HS, I just selected the vanity domain and it worked.
I validated it with the freshjuice tool and it works.
It would be nice to have this built-in to HS to elminate updating this file when major changes happen.
