Our business has several strategic partnerships / rev share agreements where we get revenue off of their deals closing. What is the best way to track this revenue in HubSpot.
We have the primary association with the “parent company” who has the partnership through us. Next we want to be able to track the companies our partner is closing deals with by using the child association. Then we’d like to create line items to ensure our revenue with the Parent company is reflective of these child company deals. What is the best way to go about this? Has anyone had success with tracking a similar revenue structure?
Hi @AmyRArmstrong,
Have you considered using more descriptive custom association labels instead of the parent-child labels? Create and use association labels
Personally, I would apply labels that specify whether the associated company is strategic partner, for example.
For the revenue share part, calculation properties can be a handy tool: Create calculation and rollup properties
They would allow you to specify (or automatically set via workflow) a revenue share split on a deal, then apply a calculation based on that so that you see which side gets how much revenue out of this share.
Best regards!
Hi Karsten,
Thank you so much for the ideas! I did create more specific association labels, but wanted to keep it simple on the post so people understood what I was attempting! I’m not sure I fully understand the calculations piece, but Breeze Assistant suggested I create some custom properites on the deal level to track the relationships. I’m attaching a screenshot of the suggestion here to help visualize.
This solution does not account for any of the revenue in our total ARR and TCV line items. Since they aren’t in our pipeline or buying one of our products, do you have any suggestions on the best way to track the revenue in our revenue reporting for leadership?
Hey @AmyRArmstrong,
Thanks for following up here!

I have 2 ideas here:
1) have you considered tracking these as a separate pipeline with its own stages? That would make keeping the revenue for each pipeline separate much easier than just the child association- it’s possible you may want both, but the ease of reporting I think is better with this option.
2) additionally, you could set up the Forecast by team (and this could be done with the separate pipeline, too- they aren’t mutually exclusive) separately in Sales > Forecast to measure there as well.
