Starting our HubSpot Journey

Hello All, My name is Lauren and my company is just beginning onboarding with HubSpot! We’ll be integrating DialPad, DealHub, and possibly Mapsly to create full-cirle customer journey so if anyone has some beneficial information or experiences to share I’m all ears! Excited to get started here in our company’s HubSpot journey!

Hi @LGauthier,

Welcome to the Community and HubSpot!

We’re happy to have you here :slightly_smiling_face:

I would like to invite our fellow community members to this conversation to see if they have any tips on getting started with HubSpot and the onboarding process.

Hi @danmoyle, @Jnix284, @crispyGTM, @jolle, @franksteiner79 - Do you have any tips for @LGauthier?

Thank you!

Best,

Kristen

Welcome to the HubSpot Community, and the HubSpot universe @LGauthier!

In your HubSpot Projects tool, you can look up project templates. I’d search for “onboarding,” and see which ones help. You’ll find general set up projects, along with “guided client onboarding” projects. These can help focus you like a to-do list. There are also onboarding projects based on goals like “generate more website traffic” and “capture, convert, and engage your leads.” You can find these by searching “marketing goal” or “sales goal.”

I’d also consider asking a partner who offers training and onboarding (I happen to work for one such partner) if you’d like a more guided, concierge-level experience.

Finally, nothing beats HubSpot Academy! Certifications like Marketing Software and Sales Software will help you really understand the tactical application of HubSpot.

Happy to chat more if you have other questions. This Community is quite smart and generous.

Hi @LGauthier welcome to the community and congrats on getting started with HubSpot!

Thanks for the mention @kvlschaefer , always happy to help!

I don’t have experience with integrating those aps to the CRM, but I have helped with adding the Mapsly maps to websites hosted on CMS Hub (and using our POWER Pro theme) - it’s relatively easy to do and the data connectivity has created a huge opportunity to streamline processes and improve the buyer journey.

Getting started with HubSpot is a fun experience because you really unlock a lot of potential! One of the biggest challenges I’ve come across is knowing where to find relevant resources or getting input on best practices - all of which we can help you with in the community :slightly_smiling_face:

Best of luck with your journey, I look forward to learning more about your experience once you are up and running!

Welcome, @LGauthier! And thanks for including me in the conversation, @kvlschaefer!

Super exciting to hear that you have a clean slate with HubSpot and some potential integrations. I know there’s already a ton going on with switching tools and migrations and all of that, but now is the best time to evaluate your processes and data to ensure that everything is positioned for your and your team’s success moving forward. HubSpot is only as strong as you build it to be, so now is the time to ensure that:

  1. You have every single contact/company categorized as a prospect, current customer, former customer, etc.
  2. Your deal pipeline is up-to-date (and any deals that haven’t moved in a decent amount of time, like 3+ months or whatever makes sense for you, are closed out)
  3. You scrub your email lists for deliverability and clear out any invalid contacts (NeverBounce is my go-to)
  4. You carry over your unsubscribed contacts and import them as an opt-out list in HubSpot

I just helped a client integrate Mapsly with HubSpot, and it’s pretty cool! The big lift there is ensuring that you have complete and accurate address information for all of your contacts and companies. There’s also a ton you can do to customize your view (or individual rep views) based on HubSpot properties. My client has filters by Lifecycle stage and other custom properties that they mapped from HubSpot, so no need to stick with the default options if they don’t work for you!

Hope everything goes smoothly as you’re getting up and running!!
