Love this thread idea. Can’t wait to read everyone’s tips!

Here’s a couple of simple ones to get us started :slightly_smiling_face:

Use labels, not just tokens in custom notification emails

When creating custom notification emails in workflows, I always write the name of the property before adding in the token - so the data that is pulled in has context. eg:
Create date: {createdate}
This may seem like an obvious thing, but I’ve been in many client portals where they just have the token - meaning the email recipient has no idea what the value refers to.
Tip: bullet points also help with cleaner formatting of multiple properties in these emails.

Add source to workflow-generated emails

I also like to include text and hyperlinks at the bottom of a workflow email, such as:
Note: this message has been sent automatically, as the contact enrolled in this branch of this workflow. If you believe this has been in error, please forward this email to {workflow owner email address} with your comments, and they’ll be happy to review.
I find this helps give the recipient context, and makes it easy for them to raise any questions. It also makes it very quick and easy to navigate to the exact branch of the workflow in question (especially helpful when there’s many branches!)

Add context to reports with text boxes

When creating new dashboards, I like to use the ‘add text and images’ option to include explanations of reports beside them on the dashboard (similar to the report description, but more accessible). I find that providing this context along with the report really helps boost engagement from day one. If users don’t understand what the report is showing, then they won’t get value from it.

When it comes to Executive reports, I also use these text boxes to note findings from the data - so not just showing the figures, but providing timely analysis. It’s also helpful to put an Exec Summary at the top of the dashboard for quick reference, and to direct viewers to critical reports for that period.
