In workflows or reporting, it can be useful to compare activities based on **today’s date** or understanding data in the context of **today’s date**.

As this isn’t a default property provided by HubSpot, we can easily set this up by:

1. Creating a _Today’s date_[custom property](https://knowledge.hubspot.com/crm-setup/manage-your-properties) (field type: date picker)
2. Creating a [_scheduled workflow_](https://knowledge.hubspot.com/workflows/create-a-scheduled-trigger-workflow) to recur every day, enrolling all records and setting a date stamp for _Today’s date_.

However, as this requires an Operations Hub Professional/Enterprise subscription, an easy workaround to set this up would be to use 2 workflows instead:

1. Create a _Today’s date_[custom property](https://knowledge.hubspot.com/crm-setup/manage-your-properties) (field type: date picker)

2. Create a workflow called Today’s Date 1:

1. This workflow will enroll records based on Today’s date is known or Today’s date is unknown.
2. With Today’s date is known, we’d be able to [re-enroll records into the workflow](https://knowledge.hubspot.com/workflows/add-re-enrollment-triggers-to-a-workflow#:~:text=When%20using%20the,previously%20having%20one.).
3. With Today’s date is unknown, new records would enroll into the workflow.
4. Records would be delayed until the next day, and we can use 00:15 to allow for buffer in case of enrolment delays.
5. Following the delay, Today’s date will be set to the **date of step**.
6. Records will then be enrolled in Today’s Date 2.

Steps

3. Create a workflow called Today’s Date 2:

1. This workflow will not have any enrolment triggers, as records will be enrolled by Today’s Date 1.
2. Make sure to turn re-enrolment on!
3. Records would be delayed until the next day, and we can use 00:15 to allow for buffer in case of enrolment delays.
4. Following the delay, Today’s date will be set to the **date of step**.
5. As Today’s date has been updated, the record would meet the enrolment criteria of Today’s Date 1 (_Today’s date is known_) and will re-start the flow.

Hope this helps 🙂
