I can hardly wait (although I’ve been waiting for years) for Hubspot to remove an obvious pain point. I can edit all sorts of information from within a contact record except to set the status of “Marketing Contact.” This seemingly requires closing the contact record by clicking to open the Contacts list view, clicking the contact’s checkbox, clicking “Set As Marketing Contact,” clicking to verify the addition of 1 new Marketing Contact, then clicking on the contact to reopen the Contact record and finish doing what I was doing to begin with. I’ve probably missed a click or two. Why all the crazy clicks?
Hey @GRichards4,
Thanks for posting your feedback in the Community!
As marketing contacts are a paid feature, it’s important users verify (through some extra clicks) that they want to pay-per-contact that they’re assigning this status to. With that said, we understand that the extra verification can also be a pain point. For this, I would recommend posting your idea to simplify the process directly in our Ideas Forum. This would allow other users to upvote your idea, expand on it, and present the need directly to our Product team.
I hope this helps!

Hi @GRichards4,
There is already a request for this in the ideas section of the community: https://community.hubspot.com/t5/HubSpot-Ideas/Manually-Setting-quot-Marketing-Contact-Status-quot-value-from/idi-p/716553
The product team reviews these requests based on popularity, I’d recommend upvoting and commenting.
Best regards!
