We are working on the custom template of the Quote and we want to show the quote number in the template. HubSpot’s current Quote Number functionality generates a random number for each quote. But we want to have a way to generate a number from 1 and increase for each new Quote.
Like if we create 5 Quotes the number they should have is 1-5 for each quote just like the serial number of the quote:
Quote A number: 1

Quote B number: 2

Quote c number: 3

Quote D number: 4

Quote E number: 5
The current way to implement this would look like such:
1- We should have a Global property of the Quote number that would be the same for every quote and will increase whenever a new quote is created.
2- After that, there should be another Quote number property that is set to global property Quote number.
There are a lot of mistakes with this approach:
1- There is no way to have a global property for the Quote number.
2- I would have to write 2 different workflows one for Global Quote number update and one for Local Quote number.
I believe this approach is overly complicated and there should be a different way to achieve it.

Hi @AJavedRolustech,
Thank you for reaching out to the Community!
I’d like to thank you for sharing your valuable feedback @AJavedRolustech! This means a lot to us.

I’ve noticed a similar idea already present in our Ideas Forum: [Configure quote number format](https://community.hubspot.com/t5/HubSpot-Ideas/Configure-quote-number-format/idi-p/257608).
To contribute, you can upvote the existing idea and share more details about your specific use case in the comments.
I have also found a workaround from @karstenkoehler on this post “[Deals - Automatic Sequential Numbering](https://community.hubspot.com/t5/CRM/Deals-Automatic-Sequential-Numbering/td-p/688685)” that might be of interest.
Thank you and have a lovely day!
Best,
Bérangère
