I’ve created a sequence where the first task in the sequence is a task is created for the sales manager to manually send an email and every email after will be automated. Will the first email be included in the thread?

Hi @SBrako,

There is an [option for threaded emails in sequences](https://knowledge.hubspot.com/sequences/create-an-email-thread-with-your-sequence), however, if you’re creating a task for someone else to send an email, whether their email is threaded or not depends on their action. If they navigate to the contact record and compose a new email, it is not. If they reply to an existing thread from the contact record timeline, it should be.

Best regards!

Hi Karsten,

Thanks for your response. No I’ll be cloning the sequence and each team member will make it their own. So just to make sure I got it right, I enroll my contact in a sequence, 1st step in the sequence is a task assigned to myself to send a manual email, I send the email through hubspot, then the follow up email which will be automated will thread to the first email I sent, correct?

Hi @SBrako,

No, I don’t think so. I’m not sure the an email created through a task is considered a sequence email by HubSpot, since the email is not sent through the sequences tool.

HubSpot will thread the emails sent from the sequence.

An email sent through a task would not be a sequence email, it would be a single one-to-one email created through a sequence task.

Best regards
