When people reply to a sequence, it removes them from it automatically (Which I believe cannot be chnaged), but what if they want to continue to receive the email sequence, for example you were drip feeding them information - ie, they have asked to automatically get updates - can you restart them at Step/email 2 for example?

@NWoodward

Good question!
You can re-enroll back into the sequence at the moment they left off BUT the best thing to do here would be to switch to using email drip campaigns. These use marketing emails and workflows.

Sequences are intended to chase people to do something on their end and get a response. They are not intended as nurturing campaigns.
If you would like to discuss further. I would be happy to do so 🙂

That is really helpful, thank you for the advice, I will take a look at that.
Seems like we have done this bit wrong, so for now I will try and re-add them to the sequence for speed and it properly in future – Is it clear how to do re-add them please (Sorry for the extra question) – Thank you in advance 😊

Hi @NWoodward,

I agree with [@Olivia\_Bagnall](https://community.hubspot.com/t5/user/viewprofilepage/user-id/359008): Sequences are meant to get a response from a contact and stop when they reply so that the next sales email to them is not automated but referencing whatever they wrote. If you want to distribute information, marketing emails are much better suited. If you want to [automate marketing emails using workflows](https://knowledge.hubspot.com/email/create-automated-emails-to-use-in-workflows), a Marketing Hub Professional subscription is required.

Until you’ve evaluated automated marketing emails, you can re-add contacts to a sequence where they left. To do so, navigate to _Menu_ \> _Automation_ \> _Sequence_, click on the sequence and head to the _Enrollments_ tab. Move your mouse over the contact until _Actions_ appears and select _Reenroll_:

You should see in the left sidebar that the completed steps are checked / grayed out:

Hope this helps!
