Is there a way to create an if/then field in a sequence that gives a text output? So if a certain field on the company = X then output “Text A”, but if the field = Y then output “Text B” in the body of the email.

Thanks in advance.

Hi @PGrassey,

Not directly in a sequence but with the help of a workflow or a calculation property. Typically this is done with workflows: [Create workflows](https://knowledge.hubspot.com/workflows/create-workflows)

You would enroll records when the property containing X or Y is known, then us a branch to check if the value is X or Y. In each branch, you can then use a “Set property value” workflow action to set the other property to A or B.

(Make sure to enable reenrollment in the workflow if you expect the value in the property containing X and Y to change occasionally.)

Once this workflow populates the property with A or B, you can place a regular personalization token for this property in your sequence and the sequence will pull the value.

Best regards!

Hey @PGrassey

there is not if/then in sequences as you already know

BUT

you can have 2 different sequences

and a Workflow with an if/then branch

that enrolls contacts in the appropriate one depending on the property value._(Enterprise licence needed for this last one)_

Hope this helps
