Separate Settings for Chat Avatar in Preview and In-Chat Display

Problem & Impact

  • When the chat welcome message is set to pop open, the preview displays:
    • Chat icon
    • Welcome message
    • Avatar (floating above the welcome message)
    • Close “X” button

→ This creates visual clutter with four competing elements.

  • The avatar floats above the text, which looks misaligned and visually awkward (e.g., takes up space, hovers unnaturally, looks unintentional / wonky).
  • To hide the avatar, the only workaround is uploading a blank image file — but this also removes the avatar inside the actual chat, which isn’t ideal.

Suggested Solutions

  • Add a separate setting for controlling avatar visibility and picture in the chat preview vs. inside the open chat.
    • Options:
      • Show / hide avatar in preview
      • Use a different avatar in preview vs. open chat
  • Improve alignment so the avatar displays in line with the welcome message text rather than hovering above it.
