I think there should be a way to send “non-marketing” emails to contacts in bulk. There are a few scenarios where I need to be able to send emails to clients in bulk to give them relevant information which does not fit the criteria of a marketing email. They need to get this information even if they have opted out of or unsubscribed from marketing comms.
Currently, I am sending these as marketing emails and changing the contacts to marketing contacts temporarily, but I have to implement workarounds to ensure these clients are not send other marketing information and I’m concerned that this could be vunerable to error and incre
I don’t mind paying for the contacts as I do for marketing contacts, but I want to be able to keep them marked as non-marketing to mitigate data protection risk.
Is there even an add-on I could use to faciliate this?
Hi @HMaginness,
There is a feature / solution for this in HubSpot: transactional emails. How to Use Transactional Emails to Send Relationship-Based Emails in HubSpot
These appear as a separate subscription type, do not require marketing contact status and should be used for anything non-marketing / non-sales (see the linked article).
(This is a paid add-on.)
Best regards!
Thanks Karsten,
I had previously considered transactional email but I thought it was a much simpler type of email, without ablity to add attachments or format like you can with the marketing emails, is this the case? Is there a demo video I can view to see what the transactional email functionality is like?
Thanks
@HMaginness transactional emails really just appear like any other subscription type in the marketing email editor. You can prepare your email like you would any marketing email.
The option appearing in the dropdown is the only difference. Once selected, the unsubscribe and manage preference link will be removed and it’ll go out to non-marketing contacts.
Thanks Karsten this is very helpful- can I send the transactional emails to any list of contacts, including marketing, non-marketing and unsubscribed?
