# Send external email alerts from a workflow

Hi!

In Salesforce we currently have the ability to send email external email alerts from a workflow.

We can set up the criteria/trigger such as Account Name contains \_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_ and Account created equals \_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_ . When a Company Record matches this criteria an email is then sent to the specified external email addresses with information pertaining to this event.

For example: We work with a Franchisor and they want to know each time a Franchisee creates a new account with us. We set up the criteria to pull in the new account for that particular Franchise group and then the emails fires each time one of these accounts are created giving the Franchisor information such as the account name, day of sign up, etc.

Yes -- we have a similar use case where we are trying to trigger alerts when exceptions or potential errors show up on our records, and we need to alert someone external to our HubSpot account. Currently, there doesn’t seem to be a way to do this if they are not users within your HubSpot environment (which isn’t ideal or possible in our use case).

On Contact based workflows, I’m able to set up an external marketing email send but this is n’t available on Deal workflows - which we really need!
