Segmentation

Can I make many segments under one buyer journey, for example, I have 4 groups each sharing the same behavior and each in the Awareness stage, so can I make 4 groups segment and other groups for the Considerations stage for Example?

Hey @AbdullahKamal12 are you wanting to just evenly device this audience? If so, the easiest way is to export the audience split them manually and reupload them. I do encourage you randomize the file once you get the export as HubSpot exports in order of create date.

If not, you can always make active lists based on other criteria like their company industry, job title, revenues, etc.

Hope this helps!

Hi @AbdullahKamal12 , yes, you can work for example with conversion date, this will help you create a cadence of emails within the awareness stage, example: first email after 10 days of conversion date, if contact doesn’t interact, another email after 30 days of conversion date. And if in X amount of days within the awareness stage, the contact didn’t interact, send them to another list and evaluate the effectiveness of the campaign.

Hope that helps :slightly_smiling_face:

I’m trying to understand how to build effective segments for email marketing. Are there any “must-have” or commonly accepted segments that everyone should follow, or does segmentation mostly depend on each company’s goals and data?

In other words, do you work from a kind of standard framework, or do you create segments from scratch based on your own strategy?
I’d really appreciate hearing how you approach this in practice.

Hi @MSokyriuk! There are some standard segments you can build to start. For example:

  • Segment by industry
  • Segment by company size
  • Segment by country
  • Segment by service/product they are interested in
  • Segment by job title
  • Segment low-interaction contacts
  • Segment subscription cancellation
  • Segment based on page conversion
  • Segment based on lifecycle stage

Hope that helps :slightly_smiling_face:
