Segment of contacts who opened any email in a specific campaign

Hi everyone, I’m trying to make my email segments more dynamic and would love some advice. Here is how the list is constructed right now:

Marketing email activity → Opened → [Specific Email Name] → Anytime

After every send, I have to manually go back into the list and add the most recently sent email to the criteria, which isn’t very scalable.

Ideally, I’d like the list to automatically include anyone who has ever opened any email related to that product line, including future emails, without me having to edit the list after every send.

All of those emails are associated with the same HubSpot campaign, so I was wondering if there’s a way to build the list around campaign engagement rather than individual email names. If not, is there another best practice for accomplishing this?

Has anyone solved this problem? Thanks!

Hi @alexagatiss,

If you have Marketing Hub Professional or Enterprise, yes, otherwise (as far as I know) no.

You could set up a lead score like this:

It’s technically not a lead score but the resulting property will simply give you a count of emails opened from the campaign you specify here - if you award 1 point per open.

Best regards

Ok, great. I think I might have actually discvoered something that will work without setting up a lead score for this specific instance. What would be the downside of making a list using these filters? Campaign influence has been completed any number of times anytime and Marketing campaign is equal to [campaign]. I guess seconardily, what consistutes a campaign influence?

@alexagatiss these exact filters aren’t available in lists. Campaign influence could be any interaction with an asset associated to a campaign - form submission, workflow enrollment, ad etc

I think @karstenkoehler suggestion is probably the best fit if your goal is specifically “contacts who opened any email in this campaign.”

The reason is that Campaign influence isn’t limited to email opens. It represents interactions with assets associated with the campaign, so it can also include things like form submissions, CTA interactions, page views, and other campaign engagement.

If you only want contacts who opened campaign emails, it will likely include a broader audience than intended.
