I was hoping to have a line or bar graph showing active deals over time. In theory, the graph should show deals that may currently be inactive (or former) as well as currently active companies to show the overall total growth of our company. Currently, inactive deals are not showing up in the graph. If I try and include former deals in the filters, it adds them cumulatively to our active deals.

For example - I want to see the number of active companies we had at any given time from 2015-today.

@BBranstetter How do you define active versus inactive deals?

Active companies currently are paying customers, inactive companies have canceled our services.

@BBranstetter Is there a property on your deal object that notates who has canceled and who is active?

Hi @BBranstetter,

Can you share a bit more context? It sounds like your deals have a date range for delivering the product and services? If that’s the case and if you want to visualize how many deals are delivering the product/service at any given time in a report, that’s unfortunately not possible.

Custom HubSpot reports are generally only visualizing each record (company, deal etc) once. It’s currently not possible visualize a record on a date range, not just a single date. In other words, a deal, for example, would appear associated to a delivery start or end date, but not for the entire range.

For this type of reporting, you would currently have to take the data out of HubSpot and run this report in another tool, either in a simple table tool like Excel or Google Sheets or a third-party reporting solution.

If it’s fine that deals only appear on specific date and not on a date range, let me know what kind of date that would be. Happy to draft the report settings and to share them here. (Unfortunately it doesn’t sound like that’s what you’re trying to achieve.)

Best regards!
