Summary of Proposed Improvement
It’d be good if the “Next Step” column in the Sales Workspace’s Leads view could automatically reflect upcoming steps from HubSpot Sequences.
Currently, the Next Step field only displays tasks or engagement activities that are manually created, which means important automated actions (e.g., forthcoming sequence emails or tasks) don’t appear in that column. As a result, reps miss crucial details about future touchpoints when evaluating their leads - and those which are missing ‘next steps’
This imporvement:
- Improves Visibility: Having sequence steps displayed in the Next Step column ensures reps immediately see any automated emails or tasks scheduled for the lead without needing to open each contact’s individual sequence details.
- Increases Efficiency: When reps can quickly review all upcoming activities in a single view, they can prioritize more effectively and manage follow-ups with confidence.
- Prevents Overlooked Next Steps: If the Next Step column remains empty for contacts enrolled in sequences, reps might mistakenly think there’s no future action planned and could inadvertently duplicate or skip needed outreach.
Suggested Implementation
An enhancement that proactively identifies and displays automated sequence actions within the Next Step column. This might involve either:
- Directly reflecting the next automated sequence email date/time.
- Generating a placeholder task or similar record that indicates the scheduled sequence action.
By showing sequence-based next steps in the column, customers can more efficiently track every planned touchpoint in a unified leads view.
