# Rules for Email delivery delay in Workflow

Hi,

In my email workflow (5 emails) I have put in the following conditions:  
1. Delay 2 days  
2. Deliver only on weekdays

QQ - If a recipient gets an email on Friday (based on the website trigger), will they get the next email on Monday or Wednesday?

That depends on how you set up the weekday rule – as part of the workflow settings (workflow hours) or within the delay action settings. Could you share a screenshot of your settings?

Generally, delays set up in the workflow settings execute outside of workings hours also. Delays set up as workflow actions execute one after another, adding up.

Hi [@Verma\_Dub](https://community.hubspot.com/t5/user/viewprofilepage/user-id/619573),

If a contact enters the 2 day delay on Friday, they would leave the 2 day delay on Sunday. HubSpot would then check whether it’s a week day and since it’s not, it would delay until Monday, correct!
