# Retrieve contacts based on views

Good morning

Apologies if someone already asked elsewhere,

I am utilizing the API to retrieve all contacts from our records and then perform tasks on them. However, there are many custom made views created by the Sales team which only contain some of these contacts. I’d like to only retrieve the contacts which are contained within those views, is there an option to do so?

Hey, @KGondek 👋 the Export API will allow you to export a View. You’ll have to set up the filters and search operators to match what is set in-app — [Export a view](https://developers.hubspot.com/docs/api/crm/exports#export-a-view).
