Resubscription Emails

I am trying to find out if it is possible to update the email footer in the resubscription email or if it has to be in the simple format provided. I wondered if it has to be in this format for GDPR reasons.

Also, once the resubscription emails are set up, will they be sent automatically to any contacts who unsubscribe or would this need to be created in a workflow?

Thanks

Hi @JHPremierCX,

Happy to help here.

When you’re in the email drag and drop email editor and click the footer, you should see a sidebar pop open. This is where you can customize how the footer appears:

But yes, most of these tokens are mandatory and cannot be removed:

  • Company Name
  • Company Street Address 1
  • City
  • State
  • A link to manage Email Preferences or Unsubscribe All

The resubscription email isn’t sent to contacts who unsubscribe – but to unsubscribed contacts who return to submit a form, see here: Resubscribe contacts to your marketing emails

Let me know if you have any follow-up questions!

Hi Karsten, that’s really helpful. Thanks.

Re: the email footer, I wanted to know if I could add a saved image for a footer, as we use on our other marketing email, rather than use the tokens.

Re: the resubcription email - to confirm that it won’t get sent out to anyone unless we choose to send it to them.

Thanks.

Hi @JHPremierCX,

No, the tokens must be present, there isn’t any way to work around that.

The resubscription email can’t be sent manually to contacts, it can only be triggered by the form submission of an unsubscribed contact. Have you reviewed the article I shared? Resubscribe contacts to your marketing emails

Thanks Karsten,

I think I have now found what I was looking for with the footer. I wanted the email to have the same feel as our marketing emails and it looks as though I can add this as a module in the footer ‘design manager.’

So, the only way for someone to resubscribe (if they can’t find any of our marketing emails) is to go to our website and complete the form. This triggers the ‘resubscription email’ which then allows them to update their preferences. There is no other way that is shorter?

Thanks

Hi @JHPremierCX,

Yes, the design manager is one option for designing your email. The tokens still need to be there, though.

Correct. All options for resubscribing are outlined here: Resubscribe contacts to your marketing emails

If you have the transactional email add-on, you could theoretically send a transactional email containing a link to the ‘Manage prefences’ page. I would consider this a dark gray legal area which you should discuss with your legal team. I can share more details if you have the transactional email add-on. Without it, this approach is not possible. How to Use Transactional Emails to Send Relationship-Based Emails in HubSpot

Hi Karsten,

can you share more details for the solution with the transactional email add-on?
Where do I get the information that a customer wants to log in again?
Thanks and best regards

Hi @karstenkoehler can the resubscription email only be triggered by the submission of a HubSpot form? Or is it able to be triggered by other forms that are integrated with HubSpot? For example, we have a number of wordpress gravity forms on our website that integrate / sync through to HubSpot. Would these be able to trigger the resubscription email?

Hi @karstenkoehler,

Is the only way to send the resubscription email to a list without them finding their way to a form to fill it out? We’d like to send that email to contacts who have unsubscribed due to an error in a workflow and we have no other way to get them to resubscribe other than sending that email as a last effort.
