Request for Clickable URL Fields in Contacts and Companies Sections (such as LinkedIn pages)

I hope this message finds you well. I am writing to suggest an enhancement to the Contacts and Companies sections within HubSpot that could significantly improve user efficiency.

Currently, URL fields, such as LinkedIn Company Pages in the Companies section and LinkedIn Pages in the Contacts section, are not directly clickable. This requires a multi-step process to access the linked pages, including navigating through the Preview options to find the clickable link, which can be time-consuming.

For instance, when attempting to access a LinkedIn Company Page from the Companies section, the URL is displayed as plain text, necessitating several additional clicks to reach the actual page. This process is similarly cumbersome in the Contacts section when trying to access individual LinkedIn Pages.

This inefficiency could be easily resolved by making all URL fields directly clickable, similar to how custom domain links are currently handled in HubSpot. This small change would save users valuable time and streamline the process of accessing linked information.

I understand that a workaround might be to create a custom property with the URL as a single-line text field, but this does not achieve the desired outcome of having directly clickable links within the standard fields.

Could you please consider implementing this feature to enhance the user experience within HubSpot? Making URL fields directly clickable would be a significant improvement in usability and efficiency.

I’ve been using a way around this for a week, by assigning my Contact’s LinkedIn page to Website URL field in Contacts. Because Website URL is the only native field that HubSpot offers with a clickable URL field. So this works, but this is not ideal, as it’s using the native Website URL property from HubSpot, instead of allowing me to create a custom property with clickable link for LinkedIn pages of my Contacts.

Likewise in Companies pages, I’m forced to use the Company’s Website URL property to assign the clickable LinkedIn page URL of each company, instead of allowing me to create a custom property with clickable link for LinkedIn pages of my Companies.

Would love to hear from the developers on this feature request, thanks.
