Reporting on Customer Churn when companies transfer ownership

Hey HubSpot Community,

The company is work for is currently working on our churn workflows. We are a SaaS company selling multiple (individually) sold products to companies that have multiple venues inside of a group.

We currently have properties available on the Company object that for each Product consist of

  • Churn Date: The date of the churn
  • Primary Churn Reason: Standardised Churn List
  • Churn Detail: Free text field

We are currently brainstorming the best way to record churn for reporting purposes when a venue from a group is sold to another group (which is also an existing customer).
For example,

  • Venue ABC is part of the HubSpot Group and has Product 1
  • Venue ABC has been sold to the Salesforce Group who want to continue using Product 1

We would like to view the churn details in a report with Companies but also report on Churn in the future if Venue ABC was sold to the Meta Group.

Hi @MattDagg,
Thank you for posting to the Community!
I understand that you want to effectively report on customer churn when a venue transfers ownership between groups, ensuring churn details remain clear and trackable even as venues move between existing customers.
I’d like to tag in some of our Subject Experts -- Hi @AdamLPW @eburnaman and @Dan1 Do you have any ideas for @MattDagg?
Thank you!
