I’m trying to build a report that shows me the amount of associated contacts at the start of this year, and the amount of associated contacts now. We’re trying to determine which company has shown the most growth so far this year. I can’t find a decent way to get this overview, any tips would be very welcom!

Unless you create a company property for certain dates (e.g. ‘Number of associated contacts on 1/1/2024’) and use a workflow to copy the value from ‘Number of associated contacts’ into the custom property on 1/1/2024, this report is unfortunately not possible – at least not if you want an aggregated view across all companies, identifying the one that has had the biggest growth.
In the middle section of each company record, you could include a report that shows when associated contacts were created over time, as a line graph, showing the growth. But a report that shows a table of all company names, with the number of contacts at certain dates as one column and the current number as another column would require prior configuration of properties like I explained above.
