Report on Companies main Primary Contact only

Hi, we’re wanting to run a report that shows companies and their primary contact only. Currently when running the report it captures all the contacts associated with a company. Anyone have any ideas of how we can achieve what’s need? Thanks

Are you using the new Contact and Company Assciations to set your Primary Contact?

Years ago, before HubSpot started working on their Associations API, we built a Primary Contact Integration for HubSpot to manage the Primary Contacts (and Accounts Contacts) for a Company. With our integration it automatically creates a smart list of Primary Contacts.

If anyone else is interested in how we did it…

1. We added “Primary Contact” as a Buying Role in HubSpot’s Account Based Marketing (ABM) Tool.

2. We then assigned a Primary Contact using the Company ABM Account Overview.

3. Once the organisations (Companies) had been assigned a Primary Contact then it was easy to run a Report (or create a list).

Hi @Lini,

There are different ways to approach this. Without an integration (like the one @Mike_Eastwood shared), this information has to have been maintained in some way. Either through updating a custom property (Primary contact Yes/No) or an existing property, e.g. Buying role. You can then filter your contact by this property (Filters section of the report) and thus exclude all other properties. If you have maintained a property and are stuck with the report, let me know, happy to assist.
