Hi,

I deleted a custom property which was not in use permanently. Is there any way i can create that again with the same name ?

HubSpot is not allowing that at the moment.

Please help

@Jyo if you go to your property settings and look under “archived properties,” you should see what you’ve archived. They’ll be there for 90 days. Or you can hover over the property, hit delete, then you should be able to create the new property. I just tested it in my own portal and it worked.

@danmoyle I realize this is an old question, but you didn’t actually do what was asked in your video, right? You first created “Dan Test Property”, archived it, deleted it, and then created “Dan Test” -- NOT “Dan Test Property”. That’s not the same property, right? You would have been able to have those two properties at the same time.
I’m only commenting because I have the same question, so I watched the video and it seemed off.

Hi @mikesnare and welcome to the Community! You’re right, I made a mistake and didn’t nae it exactly the same both time. Apologies.

However, I did a [second test here](https://www.loom.com/share/570a25afe08c4963925ab89635dda9db?sid=6f6c7717-0e00-40d9-a859-bc03540e9a69) and it still worked. Thanks!

Hi @danmoyle , I read through the thread and watched your video. No matter how long I wait, HubSpot is still not allowing me to recreate the exact property (same field type AND same internal value) even though the original property has been fully deleted.
Could being a Partner Admin rather than a Super Admin affect the ability to **fully** delete properties?
Any ideas?

Hi @sam-c-jacobsen. After the archive step did you go in and permanently delete it? I think if it’s still not working I would contact support. Unfortunately, if you took the same steps and it didn’t work, I’d also be stuck because it worked for me. But Support might have an answer (if you call in rather than chatting, perhaps.).

I did permanently delete it! I am going to wait a fully 30 minutes before attempting to recreate the property. Wondering if the type of property has anything to do with the issue, and particularly that the first time it was created it was simply single-line text, the second time still single-line text but trying to mark it as _unique values required._

I believe I found a solution per my conversation with HubSpot support:
"Our system’s back end restricts creating a property with “require unique values” ON if a previous property existed with the same name and with the requirement too. To solve we have two options, **one** is that you can use a slightly different name for the property and that would allow the creation.

The **second** option is to create the property now without the “Require unique values” and I can request my team to update it from the back end and turn on the “Require unique values” from our end onto the property, this way allowing you to create it with the same name and we will turn on the “unique values” from ours."

Hey @ConnorSlivensky - I create/archive/delete and then recreate immediately. [Here’s a 90 second recording of it](https://www.loom.com/share/707594d64a5e48a8998b5acf209ef414).
