I added an automation in my email whenever anyone click a link on the email i send through hubspot, thw contact will be added to the list i created using the inbuilt automation functionality in hubspot, but the records are not getting added even if they click on it, anyoneknow the reason why?
Hi @ThomasPeter
When you say “inbuilt automation functionality” - do you mean workflows? Without seeing the trigger for the workflow it’s hard to tell what is going wrong?
Have you checked in the enrolment history of records even enrolled to begin with and if they did, what actions were performed?
The more important question is why are you using a workflow to add contacts to a static list instead of creating an active list, that way HubSpot constantly checks for your filter criteria and adds contacts that meet it.

Hi @ThomasPeter,
It sounds like you created a simple automation: Use automation with emails
Could you share a screenshot of the workflow?
Common issues:
- The workflow is created but not turned on (see toggle in the top right corner).
- The email was sent, you later turned on the workflow and when given the choice to enroll existing records or only the ones that meet the trigger criteria after turning on, you chose the latter.
In any case, for a requirement such as a list full of contacts who clicked the email, I would frankly not bother with creating a workflow. That means two assets for something that can be achieved with just one asset: a list / segment.
You could create a segment / list, add a filter, select the ‘Marketing emails’ filter group, select your email, specify the click, save and it’ll automatically pull all contacts who ever clicked and will click. Create segments
Best regards!
