Q: How do we opt into that marketing insights beta?
A: You can opt into the new insights features from the HubSpot product updates page from within the right dropdown menu within the HubSpot navigation. Feel free to search for “Messaging Insights”!
Q: Do we need to opt in for the beta email insights? Is this available for all tiers?
A: Yes - it’s currently available in Public Beta. It will be Pro+
Q: Can we make a different padding between desktop & mobile?
A: Yes, you can do so by cloning a section for either desktop & mobile, making the relevant styling adjustments & then hiding the original section on that device. The ‘hide & recreate’ approach is useful if you want to customise items like text copy, styling or padding
Q: Can we add property values to emails that have already been sent?
A: Yes!
Q: Can you create email templates that have the email properties already set?
A: Unfortunately, the props are related to the email, not the template. That said, when you clone an email properties will get copied over, too.
Q: What’s the difference between subscription type and email type?
A: Subscription type here refers to the actual email subscription that contacts must be opted into in order to send the Email to them. ‘Email type’ in this instance was an example custom property that I used to categorise emails by content purpose (like Newsletter, Product Launch etc). Depending on how you decide to set up your subscription types, you could also have subscription types for Newsletter Emails, Webinar Invites, Product Launches, etc
Q: Custom properties in emails: would that be for future emails only, or can we populate it for old emails?
A: Past emails can be assigned custom properties too
Q: The AI Translate functionality for Emails is great
just a UI related question: currently the automated translated Emails are not organized the same way as e.g. AI translated Pages > in AI translated Pages I can switch between the created language versions (within multivariate language groups) directly. Currently they are not related to each other in case of Marketing emails (?)
A: Great catch! This was an unfortunate trade off we needed to make and is related to the underlying data structure of emails. We’re working on this already, but due to the complexity of the email system it might take a while. Cannot promise any timeline yet.
Q: Is there anything in the pipeline to cleanse contacts that have out of office bounced and apply AI to it to add the new contacts in autoresponses say someone has left and there is a new contact. DRIFT have a product like this that has done this task for years, would be brilliant to be baked into HubSpot.
A: There is not any plans to do this, but something we can look into. Thanks for the suggestion!
Q: Can you compare the insights with other emails as well?
A: Yes
Q: When will email anomalies be available?
A: It’s available in Public Beta
Q: Will there be an integrated way to log 1:1 (sales) SMS messaging?
A: Sales use case is currently not supported. We only support Marketing (batch) and Service (1:1). We want to work on sales in the future, but there is no timeline to share as of now.
Q: Will the new reporting show contacts that HubSpot has deemed “Globally bounced” so we can flag them on the contact record and filter them out of future emails?
A: Yes
Q: Whatsapp: would that work in any country? asking as sms only works in the States
A: Yes, it does work worldwide.
Q: My team has a difficult time using the don’t include unengaged contacts option because the filter requirements are filtering out way too many people. Is there a possibility of those filters being customizable rather than HubSpot provided?
A: Yes
Q: Does HubSpot SMS support multiple phone numbers?
A: Not yet. We’re planning to work on it in the future.
Q: Will insights populate retroactively or only for new emails going forward?
A: It will populate for all new emails going forward once the feature is enabled within your HubSpot account.
Q: What is the latest update on 2-way SMS messaging without using an integrated app?
A: We support two-way conversations natively today for marketing use cases. Service use cases (& help desk) coming soon.
Q: I am not familiar with Whatsapp. Does the customer need to have Whatsapp on their phone to be able to receive the SMS?
A: They can reply in the conversation inbox today
Q: If we send a marketing message using a short code number, where would customer replies be routed within HubSpot? We want to make sure that if a customer responds, the message is properly captured and we’re able to follow up in a timely manner.
A: All shortcode replies are available in the connected inbox so you can manage them easily there
Q: Is it possible for short code # SMS replies to be logged as SMS activity on the contact record in HS?
A: No, this is not possible today
Q: Is HubSpot thinking of adding folders, etc. in the SMS area so we can segment between different BU’s / Teams that way (similar to how you can separate assets in the email section).
A: Not at the moment. Great to know there’s demand there. Thanks for the suggestion.
Q: Does WhatsApp have to be in a conversation channel? We just want to send out reminders but not receive messages
A: No, you do not have to set this up if you do not want to
Q: Any plans to allow for email template permissions? For example, user A can only access certain templates instead of all?
A: Nothing granular here planned at the moment. Can definitely see the value of limiting access based on permissions/brand – something that’s on our radar, but not in the immediate roadmap
Q: These insights are great, but do you have to have a certain level of access to see/use/edit them?
A: No
Q: Any plans to allow suppression of HubSpot-provided email templates that we don’t use?
A: No
Q: Can the subscriptions sync with Brands, so only relevant subscriptions appear under a brand?
A: Yes
Q: It would be great to send an email but also have an option to send an AI-generated rich text version via WhatsApp simultaneously.
A: Great question, not yet. But WhatsApp requires you to create a template and it needs to be approved by Meta. So unlikely this is something we could build on the fly alongside an email
Q: How much is it per month, $75/month?
A: Yes, for the addon (incl. 1,000 messaging segments). Depending on how much SMS you’re sending you might need to subscribe to more segments ($15/month per 1,000 segments).
A*: Always double check pricing with your HS rep or check out page details to make sure it is right for you.
