I’m working on a workflow for email marketing to nurture leads. It includes several emails and spans over 60 days. Here’s the challenge: I want to automatically unenroll contacts if they take action, specifically when they submit a form on our landing page or website.
I’ve added delays after each email and tried using the “Event Occurrence” delay with form submission as the trigger. However, this ends up sending all contacts who’ve ever submitted a form to the sales team, along with notifications. This isn’t ideal.
What’s the best way to immediately unenroll contacts after they submit a form? I want to ensure sales only gets notified after I’ve updated the custom properties thru the workflow. Any suggestions?
Thanks for the idea but how should I update the custom property? It is relevant in reporting because we want to track the leads that our coming from our email marketing effort.
@Sgram just to confirm, do you only want to notify sales reps if a form was submitted after the contact received an email from your nurturing workflow? In that case, I would set up a second workflow that enrolls all contacts who have clicked any of the emails in the nurturing workflow and who have submittedd a form, then notifies sales.
Alternatively, enroll contacts in the second workflow based in meeting the goal criteria of the nurturing workflow You don’t have to list all emails then.
Yes, for all other leads i.e social media, PPC & organic traffic it’s a different workflow that notify the sales reps but this is our different effort that we are trying to do. So marking those custome properties is very important.
@Sgram then I would recommend a separate workflow that enrolls contacts based on meeting the goals of the original workflow, as explained in my previous reply
To set up a workflow that unenrolls contacts after submitting a form and notifying sales with updated information, start using the Form Submission Trigger to initiate the workflow whenever a form is submitted. Immediately remove contacts from the workflow to prevent them from receiving further emails. Next, update the relevant custom properties, such as “Lead Status” or “Form Submitted,” to reflect the action taken. Once the properties are updated, send an internal notification to the sales team, ensuring they receive only the most current information. This approach ensures that contacts are unenrolled promptly and that the sales team stays informed with the right details.
