Update: I noticed that the property “Industry” doesn’t return any results in contacts’ search. It seems like I can only sort companies by their industry, not contacts, right?

There is a contact property for industry and a company property for industry. While the company property can be populated through HubSpot Insights, the contact property will not, so while there may be some companies that have the information automatically, you would need to manually input the industry for the contacts. They aren’t automatically linked.
So while you can sort contacts based on industry, the results will differ from sorting companies by industry.
