# Rate limit connected app

Hi, I’m using custom action app in workflow to update something. But when enrollment large of contact I faced with issue `Action failed because HubSpot is being rate limited by the connected app, but will retry soon`. Is there anyway to resolve it?

You should optimize your app’s usage of API endpoints to minimize unnecessary requests. Then, consider requesting an increase in API limits if the option is available. Implement backoff strategies to pause before retrying requests, and utilize bulk operations for handling large volumes of data efficiently.

Hi, this action is automation called by workflow and I don’t find anyway to optimize. Can you give me document for that? My app only use to for this action.
