Quoting New Products Without Altering Existing Deal Properties

We would like the ability to generate and send a quote for new or additional products within an existing deal in HubSpot without automatically updating the deal properties.

Our deals are often structured around specific locations and vendor/product types. In many cases, we need to send customers a quote for a potential upsell or a different product line—but this doesn’t necessarily mean the deal has changed. Currently, when we create a new quote, HubSpot can automatically update key fields like the deal amount and line items, even if the quote is not signed or approved. This creates confusion and misrepresents the current deal status.

We are requesting an option to send a quote from a deal without altering the original deal’s amount or line items, unless manually updated. A quote should not override existing deal information unless it becomes a confirmed sale.

This feature would help preserve data accuracy and make it easier to manage multi-product conversations with a single customer within one organized deal.

+1 to this and I’d also like to add that at the moment, the quote creation process automatically includes the deal’s line items. It’ll be so much more time-consuming if we can create a quote from a deal without having the line items automatically populate, or at least an option to choose whether we want to automatically populate those line items or not.
