Quotes - URL from Product Description not linking on finalised quote

When entering products into the catalogue for quotes, I have been putting in relevant URLs as prompted in HS, hoping the customer can click on the line items for more info.

But the URLs don’t seem to show on the published quotes. I’ve tested the 3 given templates (Basic, Modern and Original) and there’s no clickable product links..

What am I missing here..?

Hi @SRemington,

Thank you for reaching out to the Community!

I did some testing in my own account and I can confirm that the behaviour you described in your post is expected. You are able to add a URL to a product in the product library, but when you use the product in the quote, the customer will only see a basic description, without any additional elements.

Additional options to customize quotes is a feature our users have requested and this idea has already gained a lot of traction in the Ideas Forum. Our product team has launched a beta - you can find more details in this Knowledge base article. It would be great if you could share some feedback in the linked Ideas post.

Hope this helps!

Cheers,

Mia.

Hi @SRemington ,
So the URL property you’re seeing there is a newer one that came about when the product library became useable among all the pro hubs and not just sales pro!
The real use for this property is as a custom token in custom templates - for example you could send a marketing email in a deal based workflow with the products someone is purchasing as a confirmation style email, and include the URL token which wasn’t there before unless you created custom product properties! (same with the image property)
This could be used in a quote if you were to use a custom quote template - and that is a beta currently ongoing for the custom quote template feature you can ask HS team to ungated for you.
You can build a custom template in HTML/HubL with a developer to style and include any properties you’d like in that (like the URL property).
Hope this helps!

Thanks and Regards.

How is the image property used? It appears to just be a single line text field. Shouldn’t it be connected to the file manager or are we supposed to insert a link to the hosted image?

Yes, it would be great if the link worked the same as it does in an Outlook platform where you add the link to the image or add a JPEG and the item could be seen and referenced. Not terribly helpful the way it is currently as it would require the quote recipiant to then type out the long link since it downloads to a PDF
