# Quote API

Hello, I have a very important question.

Is it possible to change the status of a quote? I want to change the payment\_status to PAID but it seems that is not possible. Do I need to have HubSpot payments enabled?

Hey, @ACarr3 👋 I ran that property through the [Properties API](https://developers.hubspot.com/docs/api/crm/properties). It’s read-only. Here are the details from the response:

 "calculationFormula": "if (is_present(bool(hs_payment_enabled)) and bool(hs_payment_enabled)) then if is_present(hs_payment_date) then if hs_payment_date equals 0 then 'PROCESSING' else 'PAID' else 'PENDING' else 'PAYMENT_NOT_ENABLED'"
 }

```

It also includes the “formula” for how these values are determined.

With read-only properties, there is not a workaround.

So, basically, it’s impossible to change the status of a quote to “PAID” using the API?
